As an Assistant Superintendent, you will play a pivotal role in constructing our state-of-the-art chemical manufacturing plant. You will be responsible for overseeing daily site operations, coordinating contractors and construction/project managers, ensuring safety and quality, and managing and enforcing adherence to scope, schedule and budget. An assistant superintendent is generally responsible for:

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

• Assist Construction managers and MEP Managers with overseeing all aspects of the construction site, including schedule, contractors and subcontractors, safety, materials, and equipment.
• Develop and maintain relationships with engineers, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure alignment with expectations from initiation to completion.
• Ensure subcontractor and vendor compliance with the overall site safety program and all applicable safety codes and regulations.
• Review various building system trades installation progress for compliance with drawings, specifications, quality and schedule.
• Identify schedule risks and opportunities and communicate them to the project team.
• Support the development of daily and weekly plans, track deliverables, and report on progress.
• Monitor progress and resolve on-site challenges to maintain project timelines and quality expectations.
• Utilize project management and scheduling tools to forecast, identify and address project risks and opportunities and manage change over the project’s lifecycle.
• Conduct daily site inspections to ensure work aligns with drawings, specifications, and approved schedules.
• Monitor project safety protocols and address potential hazards to maintain a safe work environment.
• Work with the Construction Manager and MEP Managers to Report on project progress to management and relevant project stakeholders.
• Maintain clear documentation, including daily logs, incident reports, and quality control records.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

• Strong understanding of construction methods, scheduling, quality control, and safety practices.
• 3 years of supervisory or leadership experience in construction, ideally in industrial, chemical, or manufacturing plant projects.
• 5 years performing hands-on construction, ideally in various trades such as mechanical, electrical, structural, civil, etc.
• Ability to read technical drawings, and construction documents. Experience with project management software is a bonus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Desire and ability to collaborate and work in a team environment.
• Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Deep understanding of safety regulations and compliance.

OTHER QUALITIES WE’D LOVE FOR YOU TO HAVE:

• A proven track record of assisting with or managing large-scale, complex construction projects.
• Experience with start-up environments or construction during the early phases of manufacturing plant operations.
• Experience with construction management in the chemical process industries.
• Experience with project scheduling tools (Primavera P6, MS Project, etc.)
• Experience with Project Management Information Systems (PMISs, e.g., Kahua, PM Web, Facility Grid, etc.)

The annual base salary range for this position is $100,000 - $130,000. All positions come with a bonus plan and company stock options. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, the applicant’s qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the position is located.
