Job Title: Raw Material Loader/Cell Setup
Reports To: Shift Supervisor

Hours: 6:45am - 3:15 pm
Job Summary:
Dries, blends, grinds, and/or transports material/products to and away from production machines
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Ensure the correct Material is at the correct presses when needed.
- Weigh and label all Gaylord's of Material prior to placing back on shelve.
- Ensure blenders are set-up and working correctly.
- Drain and clean dryers & blenders as needed per their specific cleaning work instructions.
- Blend Material as assigned.
- Load all Material and set dryer temp per dryer temperature sheet.
- Ensure all equipment/presses are free of any air leaks.
- Fill out daily Material Logs as required.
- Load and unload trucks as needed.
- Clean and maintain dryer filters as required.
- Ensure all dryers are operating daily and running correctly.
- Be involved in the die setter meeting. Must have clear view of the day’s events.
- Responsible for the removal of all secondary equipment, components packaging and raw material from the outgoing job.
- Clean out all raw materials from the hopper and the lines leading to the workstation.
- Cleaning the area of all parts, runners and raw material from the previous job. Verifying that nothing from the previous job remains at the job station before any new components or equipment is brought out.
- Get supervisors to approve the tear down of the cell before bringing anything out for the new job.
- Have the new material ready to load when the supervisor approves the area or new job is ready to start up.
- At the end of shift, empty all trash containers on the production floor.
- Remove all scrap from your shift in the staging area at the beginning of the shift.
- Organize the cardboard areas.
- Ensure the correct Material is at the correct presses when needed.
- Follow company policies and procedures for the operation of forklifts and lock-out/tag-out procedures in accordance with Federal and State OSHA regulations.
- Performs all duties in accordance to TransNav standards and ISO / IATF requirements.
- Assist in the development and continuous improvement of operations in the plant and quality system
- Maintains an appropriate level of conventionality and conformance in regard to the corporate culture. Relates well with others, including, as appropriate, peers, supervisor, subordinates, customers and suppliers while maintaining good attendance. Assumes appropriate role(s) when working in a team environment. Responds appropriately to unexpected and/or continuing situations, which develop in the work environment.
- Complete all other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Additional Duties/Responsibilities may include:
- Properly label & identify all regrind scrap bins and Gaylords.
- Monitor and empty all scrap bins daily from production floor.
- Move full regrind scrap Gaylords to Grinder Room.
- Grind and label all scrap and runners in their appropriate containers.
- Bringing all components and secondary equipment required to run the new job. Set up the work cell according to the layout provided. If no layout is provided. They will be in charge of creating a new ergonomic cell layout. After new set up is complete. They must get management involved for approval.
- Ensure all material gaylords have plastic covers on them, to prevent cross contamination.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to follow directions and work well in a team.
- Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production equipment.
- Ability to read and comprehend written instructions in English.
- Ability to interface and maintain effective relationships with all departments and employees in a team-oriented environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Analytical skills
- Must be able to successfully complete training & maintain a license/certification for forklift along with lock-out/tag-out procedures in accordance to company policies and Federal and State OSHA regulations.
- Understanding of and the ability to abide by applicable Federal and State OSHA regulations along with maintaining ISO and IATF requirements.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least 6 months of material handling experience in plastic process
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods working on feet, using hand/power tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending and stooping.
- Must be able to lift up to 55 pounds at a time.
- Visual acuity to read instructions and inspect parts produced.
