2025 Summer Intern - Tax Department

The Tax Department is responsible for managing tax compliance, calculating provisions, and planning on a global scale for the company. We deal with a wide range of tasks, including technical challenges, process improvements, technology integration, and communication needs. You'll have the opportunity to collaborate with leading experts in the field as we tackle each project.

The 2025 Summer Internship offers hands-on experience, providing a unique opportunity to gain deep insights into Groupon's operations and the operations of our Global Tax department for a publicly traded US tech company. As a 2025 Summer Intern on the Tax Department team, you will support the team as they partner with leaders of various departments across the organization, actively contributing to the tax provision computations and tax compliance responsibilities. During this internship, you will also have opportunities to collaborate with other interns across the organization within the Finance, Marketing & Sales departments.

The 2025 Summer Internship program is scheduled to be 10 weeks from June 2, 2025 - August 8, 2025. The program will be a hybrid schedule based out of our Chicago office. Interns will be required to be in the Chicago office on Tuesdays and Thursdays each week which is consistent with our current US employee office policy. All other weekdays, interns have the flexibility to work remotely.

You'll spend time contributing to the following :

• Tax provision computations, both for US GAAP and statutory accounting purposes
• Determining accounting treatment under ASC740 and document analysis
• Tax process optimization, develop and implement procedural changes and / or processes to improve the tax function and meet SOX certification
• Preparing tax models and assist with other tax projects on an as needed basis
• Updating and obtaining information from OneSource Tax Provision and all of the other wonderful systems we have
