What are the responsibilities and job description for the Environmental Specialist position at Grouse Mountain Environmental Consultants?
Grouse Mountain Environmental Consultants is seeking a highly motivated Environmental Coordinator. As part of our team, you will work closely with our clients in a wide range of industries, such as the oil and gas industry, renewable energy industry, mineral processing, and government agencies across the western United States. You will help to provide regulatory compliance support and developing solutions for environmental compliance and remediation programs.
The position will manage and/or support projects covering the full spectrum of our services including:
· Air Quality
· Water Quality
· Sustainability/Remediation/Waste
· NEPA
· Phase I and II ESAs
Responsibilities
· Manage a diverse group of environmental projects.
· Keep up to date on regulatory requirements and work with clients to plan for and achieve compliance and/or environmental initiatives, including sustainability programs.
· Prepare and review regulatory permits such as air permits, stormwater, and local zoning and planning permits.
· Prepare and review compliance plans, such as SPCC, SWPPP, and CAM plans.
· Support NEPA projects, particularly for air and water impacts.
· Provide senior level environmental program guidance to clients and staff.
· Develop and maintain solid working relationships with co-workers, clients, and agency personnel.
· Ensure tasks are completed efficiently with a high degree of quality and reliability.
· Maintain an understanding of technology utilized in the field including GIS, tablets, etc.
· Work with our leadership team to explore and capture new opportunities.
· Conduct field investigations or data collections with occasional travel out into the field. (~15%). Typically, throughout the states of WY, SD, CO, or NM.
· Completion of other duties as assigned where proficiency is demonstrated, or training is provided.
Requirements:
· A minimum of five years’ experience in environmental program compliance or management. Specific experience with general air quality permitting is necessary.
· B.S. in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management, or related field.
· Direct experience working with private industry, federal, state, and/or other conservation agencies.
· Able to work in remote areas, use ATVs or other four-wheel drive type vehicles in various weather conditions.
· Experience with ArcPro or ArcMap appreciated.
· Remote work with opportunity to work from Santa Fe, NM, Buffalo, WY, or Rapid City, SD areas.
