Memory Care Director Duties and Responsibilities:
- The Memory Care Director is responsible for overseeing the Memory Care program, ensuring that team members provide high-quality care for residents living with Alzheimer’s, dementia, and other memory-related conditions.
- Implement and manage programs that promote the physical, social, and psychological well-being of residents.
- Develops and assembles monthly memory care activity calendar.
- Overseas all activities related to providing quality service to residents, including maintaining the community, providing excellent food service, and engaging activities.
- Responsible for overseeing all aspects of nursing care within memory care, including developing and implementing individualized care plans for each resident.
- Foster a compassionate, team-oriented environment.
- Organize educational sessions and support groups for families.
- Develop and maintain relationships with resident family members to ensure excellent customer service.
- Maintains a dementia-safe environment through daily resident room and neighborhood rounds, manages the balance of noise and other stimulatory sources throughout the neighborhood.
- Leads efforts to educate community staff in dementia-related topics. Acts as community dementia champion.
- Develop relationships with local dementia advocacy groups.
Memory Care Director Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience in geriatric nursing with a strong understanding of dementia care
- Licensed LPN or RN
