This role will be responsible for driving growth and expanding business opportunities within the agricultural sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of agricultural practices, particularly in transplanting, and the ability to build lasting relationships with key stakeholders, farmers, and agricultural businesses.
As a Business Development Manager, you will work closely with our leadership team to develop new business strategies, identify market trends, and establish long-term partnerships with clients in the agricultural sector. You will be a key player in helping us scale our diversified services, ensuring that we remain a trusted and innovative partner to growers.

Essential Functions (Duties and Responsibilities)
- Conduct in-depth research on current market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs within the agriculture and transplanting services sector.
- Develop and implement business development strategies to expand the company's client base and market presence.
- Identify, target, and pursue new business opportunities in the agricultural market.
- Lead the sales process from initial outreach to closing deals, including preparing proposals, conducting presentations, and negotiating contracts with clients.
- Cultivate strategic partnerships with local agricultural businesses, suppliers, and other industry stakeholders to grow the company's network and market share in alignment with our services.
- Gather feedback from customers to identify opportunities for service improvements, new product offerings, or potential operational changes.
- Oversee and manage contracts, service level agreements (SLAs), and other documents associated with new client acquisition, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
- Work closely with internal teams, including operations, finance, and logistics, to ensure that all customer needs are met, services are delivered efficiently, and projects are executed successfully.
- Explore new geographic areas, potential markets, and customer segments for our services, particularly looking at expansion opportunities within California and beyond.
- Performs all duties in accordance with environmental, food safety, safety rules and regulations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Salary range : $115 - $130K plus bonus.
The compensation range for this role is determined by factors such as location and required skills. The salary range provided reflects the lowest to highest amount we reasonably anticipate paying for this position at the time of posting. Compensation is influenced by labor market conditions and various factors, including but not limited to : the prevailing minimum wage in the area, relevant education, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, sales or revenue targets, and business needs. It is not typical for a new hire to be offered the highest end of the salary range. Pay decisions are made based on the unique circumstances of each candidate and position.
