Director of ESCO Development and Construction Management
Compensation : Base $200k, 50k bonus
About You :
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering, Construction, or Engineering Technology; PE License mandatory
Over 10 years of experience in construction management and project development.
Proven experience managing project managers and service personnel.
Strong understanding of energy markets, utility rebates, and tax incentive opportunities.
Proficient with HVAC systems, controls, and automation.
Skilled in HVAC equipment selections and basic energy conservation measures.
Familiarity with Co-Operative purchasing, GPO, and government purchasing vehicles.
Knowledge of ESCO market and energy retrofit projects.
Excellent communication, presentation, and customer relations skills.
In-depth knowledge of the HVAC industry.
What You’ll Be Doing :
Providing strategic leadership and overseeing technical, operational, financial, and managerial aspects of project implementation.
Collaborating with Owner Direct Sales teams to develop project requirements and solutions.
Leading a cross-functional team of engineers, project developers, and project managers while coordinating with mechanical and electrical subcontractors.
Supporting or leading coordinated sales efforts across multiple business groups.
Conducting facility walk-throughs, construction plan reviews, and gathering relevant information to inform project development.
Developing HVAC system-related solutions that address customer problems, considering financial and performance-based outcomes.
Managing all aspects of project development from inception to closeout, including scheduling, budget preparation, and coordination of construction drawings.
Reviewing energy audit reports (ASHRAE levels 1, 2, 3) and identifying projects for development.
Preparing comprehensive project plans, schedules, and documentation for seamless execution.
Overseeing equipment selection, pricing, and integration of controls and services.
Transitioning projects to operations teams with clear communication and documentation.
Managing contracts and subcontractor relationships.
Supervising administrative processes such as invoicing, inspections, and customer satisfaction.
Location & Travel :
This role is based out of Baltimore and supports projects across Virginia, Maryland, Northern Virginia, and Pennsylvania.
