Preschool teachers support the learning, development, and health of young children. Their responsibilities include:
- Planning- Create daily activity plans that align with the school curriculum and focus on different areas of child development
- Teaching- Engage children in age-appropriate activities that are educational and fun, such as reading stories, playing, using art, and going on field trips
- Managing- Maintain a clean and safe classroom, manage classroom activities like lessons, breaks, meals, and play, and enforce rules of behavior
- Supporting- Help children reach developmental milestones, learn basic skills like identifying colors and shapes, and build their sense of identity and belonging
- Communicating- Develop positive relationships with children and parents, and communicate with parents about their child's progress and development
The following skills and qualifications include but are not limited to:
- One year of relevant childcare experience
- Self-motivated and able to work in a team environment
- Ensures the safety of the children entrusted to our care
- Submit to a criminal background check, drug screen, physical, and TB testing upon hire
- Organizes, designs, and leads activities to promote physical, mental, and social development.
- Participates in continued professional development for childcare workers
- Maintains all state requirements for childcare workers
- Physical requirements: the ability to lift children (35 lbs), and standing for prolonged periods
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday - no weekends or late evenings
Education:
- High school or equivalent (Required) or currently enrolled in a school internship program.
