PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT
Assists in the daily operational and data entry activities of a grain elevator.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Answers incoming telephone calls, ascertains nature of call and directs caller to appropriate person or department.
- Greet and assist customers.
- Assists with the weighing, probing and grading of grain both inbound and outbound.
- Develops a strong understanding of grain accounting software system.
- Enters scale tickets, contracts and other documents into grain accounting software system.
- Coordinates payments of grain purchases.
- Prepares, issues, and sends out contracts, invoices, and checks.
- Develops a good understanding of the grain business.
- Opens and routes incoming mail, answers correspondence, and prepares outgoing mail.
- Maintains a professional workspace and office environment.
- Compiles records and reports.
- Operates office equipment such as computer, copier/fax, calculating machines.
- Purchases office supplies as needed for the office.
- Attends required meetings as requested.
- Successfully adhere to safety rules and company policies and procedures.
- All other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
