This is your opportunity to work with an experienced Controller to quickly take on financial and managerial accounting.

Accounting Specialist Your Job Duties:
You will work directly with the Company Controller as an integral foundational employee, supporting company accounting operations with both financial and managerial accounting..

• Perform month end close (including account reconciliations, accruals, intercompany transactions and generating a monthly and quarterly financial statement package) using QuickBooks Enterprise ERP system and BILL.com
• Perform monthly budget vs. actual analysis workpaper prepare the workpaper, perform analysis, investigate and explain variances.
• Accounts Payable support process vendor invoices and expense reports.
• Complete weekly cash management procedures including cash flow projections, reporting, and compiling payment schedules.
• Perform construction project accounting activities to track construction costs, expense allocations, and ensure management reporting is complete and accurate.
• Develop, document, and deploy new or improved accounting processes and internal controls leveraging existing or proposed technologies.
• Assist with financial reporting needs for third parties (audit, tax and other third parties)

Accounting Specialist -Required Skills, Experience Personality Fit

• High degree of technical accounting acumen including general ledger accounting, month end close, financial statement preparation and reporting and financial analysis

Accounting Specialist You Might Have (Desired, Not Required)

You might have:

• Experience documenting SOPs, internal processes or building processes
• Prior experience using QuickBooks Enterprise
• Experience performing flux analysis in public accounting or auditing environment
• CPA license or desire to obtain CPA license (Controller is a licensed CPA that you can obtain your hours under)

You will work mostly remote from your home office, with occasional travel in Sacramento to meet in person. Occasional meetings in the Bay Area may also be required (with plenty of advance notice).

Compensation $105,000 to $115,000 salary plus incentive bonus potential.
