Desert Biologist You Will:
You will work throughout 30,000 acres of preserved desert tortoise habitat throughout the Colorado Desert of California, between Indio and Blythe.
Desert Biologist You (Desired Qualifications):
You will be provided with a company truck and quad, and a fuel card. Temporary company-provided housing is also available in Desert Center when needed.

Desert Biologist You Will:
You will work throughout 30,000 acres of preserved desert tortoise habitat throughout the Colorado Desert of California, between Indio and Blythe.
- Perform daily monitoring of desert land travel to site, walk the line and observe flora and fauna, noting observations, geolocating and photographing findings and logging information
- Complete monitoring and reporting including desert tortoise reconnaissance surveys, habitat assessments, non-native vegetation management
- Data review and game camera management
Desert Biologist You (Desired Qualifications):
- Enjoy being on the road and out in the field visiting desert sites and working independently, sometimes alone for long stretches of time
- Are able to walk up to 20 miles per day through the desert
- Enjoy working outdoors (including in fluctuating temperature changes in both heat and cold)
- Experienced and knowledgeable about the flora and fauna of the desert (may include tortoise, Mohave ground squirrel, western burrowing owl, flat-tailed horned lizard and native vegetation)
- Have experience with GPS units, topographic maps, digital data collection
- Have a clean driving record and are able to drive a company vehicle and a 4wd quad vehicle
