What is the job about?
The Manufacturing Engineer will assist with improving manufacturing methods using knowledge of the organizations’ processes and will assist with analyzing, planning work force utilization, space requirements, workflow and design layouts of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency. This position reports directly to the Engineering Manager and will operate on a fully onsite schedule out of our Brookshire, TX facility.
Your main responsibilities:
- Assist with the manufacturing engineering strategy to achieve the best quality, costs, and lead times.
- Maintain current set up sheets for all standard jobs.
- Establish routings and standards for new parts or modified engineering parts.
- Plan and execute tooling and fixture requirements for the shop while applying statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements.
- Provide training, and corrective action to assure that the manufacturing engineering department meets the standards for quality and target manufacturing objectives.
- Monitor daily production activities and implement lean processes.
- Perform all work in compliance with company policies, procedures, legislation, regulations, and direction and identify and notify management of non-compliance situations.
- Comply with the GCB Environmental, Health, and Safety Management System requirements.
We imagine that you have:
- Qualified candidates will possess an Engineering degree, preferably in industrial engineering.
- A minimum of 3-5 years as a Manufacturing Engineer in a high mix manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
- Superior proficiency using PC based tools and proficiency using SAP, ERP and MRP Systems.
