Elementary School Principal
Reports to: Superintendent of Oelwein Community Schools
Job Goal: To provide the leadership and accountability of the Elementary building staff
and facilities. To lead the assigned Oelwein Community Elementary School buildings doing ‘Whatever It Takes’ in all areas of educational advancement for the good of the students we serve.
Performance Responsibilities:
Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluations of Personnel.

Performance Responsibilities:
- Serve as Educational Leader / Elementary Principal for assigned buildings.
- Promote the success of all students by acting with integrity, fairness, and in an ethical manner.
- Promote the success of all students by collaborating with families and community members, responding to diverse community interests and needs, and mobilizing community resources.
- Be a team player and develop and maintain a positive working relationship with all partners.
- Promote the success of all students facilitating the development, articulation, implementation, and stewardship of a vision of learning that is shared and supported by the school community.
- Promote the success of all students by advocating, nurturing and sustaining a school culture and instructional program conducive to student learning and staff professional development.
- Promote the success of all students by ensuring management of the organization, operations, and resources for a safe, efficient, and effective learning environment.
- Promote the success of all students by understanding, responding to, and influencing the larger political, social, economic, legal, and cultural context.
- Maintain a complete and systematic set of records for the C-Plan of the district.
- Supervise a program of curriculum development in line with district goals.
- Manage and supervise Title I and Grant funding and manage a budget control system for the district.
- Develop and supervise building staff development that ties directly to district goals and the C-Plan and Iowa Core.
- Be responsible for building support staff
- Evaluate all support staff each year
- Evaluate Certified Staff as part of the district evaluation process.
- Participate as a member of the Little Husky DayCare Board of Directors.
- Participate as an active member of the Administrative Team.
- Be vested and active in the community.
- Maintain an adequate understanding of technologies utilized in classroom and staff development matters.
- Perform all other duties and assume other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Superintendent.
