We are seeking a highly motivated and flexible Pharmacist to join our team. As a key member of the healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care by filling prescriptions, counseling patients, supervising Pharmacy Technicians, and ensuring that all services comply with professional standards and applicable laws.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Interpret written prescriptions, check for drug interactions and allergies, enter prescription and patient data into the computer system, and communicate prescription information to Pharmacy Technicians for filling.
- Serve patients by counseling over the phone and in person, conveying pertinent information regarding medication use and answering patient questions.
- Consult with other healthcare professionals and conduct research as necessary to ensure that all services are in the best interests of the patient and conform to established professional standards and applicable state laws.
- Review inventory daily, place orders for medications as necessary, and maintain adequate supplies without overstocking.
- E nsure proper billing occurs when the pharmacist on duty is in compliance with insurance plans, CMS, and/or board of pharmacy regulations.
- Counsel patients to ensure they understand their treatment program and treatment goals are being met, meet face-to-face with patients, discuss disease states and treatment options, and answer questions to ensure patient understanding.
- Maintain current state pharmacy license and stay up-to-date with knowledge of all aspects of the computer and cash register.
- Maintain store competitiveness and profitability by controlling operational expenses and maximizing sales, develop courteous and professional relationships with patients, customers, and coworkers.
- Comply with all security/loss prevention procedures, including setting alarms and securing safe areas.
- Maintain a perpetual schedule II inventory, complete third-party rejections, and maintain daily and weekly reports.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited pharmacy college.
- Active and unrestricted pharmacy license in the state.
- One to two years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
