Job Overview:
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing maintenance operations and custodial support within the Vermont aerospace manufacturing facilities. This role ensures that all equipment, machinery, facility spaces, and grounds are maintained to the highest standards, minimizing downtime, maximizing production efficiency, and maintaining a clean, safe environment. The supervisor will lead a team of maintenance technicians and custodians, coordinate maintenance schedules, and implement preventative maintenance strategies to ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and lead a team of maintenance technicians and custodial staff, to ensure timely and effective maintenance of production equipment, machinery, facility cleanliness, and exterior grounds.
  • Develop, implement and monitor preventative maintenance programs for both production equipment and facility infrastructure, reducing downtime and increasing operational efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical and pneumatic system issues on production equipment, while overseeing custodial and maintenance personnel to ensure a clean, safe, and well-maintained facility.
  • Maintain compliance with aerospace industry regulations (e.g., AS9100, FAA, ISO) and safety standards in all maintenance and custodial activities.
  • Coordinate and schedule maintenance tasks, custodial duties and grounds upkeep to ensure minimal disruption to production and operational schedules.
  • Ensure proper documentation of all maintenance and custodial activities, including work orders, repairs, inspections, and cleaning logs.
  • Monitor inventory levels for maintenance supplies and custodial products, coordinating with purchasing to ensure availability of necessary resources.
  • Provide training and guidance to maintenance and custodial staff on proper procedures, equipment handling and safety protocols.
  • Work closely with production, engineering and facilities teams to identify opportunities for equipment improvements, process optimization, and facility upkeep.
  • Conduct regular inspections of machinery, facilities, and grounds to ensure proper functionality and identify potential issues before they arise.
  • Report on maintenance performance, including downtime analysis, maintenance costs, and equipment/facility status, to the Facilities Manager.
Requirements:


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications or associate degree in a related field preferred.
  • 5 years of experience in a maintenance role, with at least 2 years in a supervisory position, ideally within aerospace or manufacturing environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems used in aerospace manufacturing, as well as custodial and grounds maintenance operations.
  • Strong understanding of maintenance management systems, preventative maintenance strategies, and custodial/grounds upkeep practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills for equipment, facility, and grounds issues.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a diverse team, ensuring high performance and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Familiarity with industry regulations, including AS9100, FAA, ISO, and other safety standards.

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time position, with occasional overtime required based on production needs.
  • Work environment may involve exposure to noise, mechanical equipment, custodial duties, and outdoor grounds maintenance tasks.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as necessary.
  • Occasional travel to other GSP sites.
  • Other duties as assigned.
