Payroll Specialist – Direct Hire
Salary: $56,000 – $57,000
Work Schedule: Hybrid

Job Summary
The Payroll Specialist is responsible for supporting payroll operations through data entry, processing garnishments, distributing checks, and assisting with various payroll-related tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enter new hire information and personnel changes into the HR/Payroll system
- Follow up on incomplete or missing documentation
- Enter and respond to garnishment requests
- Run weekly and bi-weekly payrolls
- Respond to payroll-related inquiries
- Process retroactive pay calculations
- Upload payroll data
- Research and resolve pay issues
- Perform additional payroll duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 3 years of relevant payroll experience
- Associate’s degree preferred
- (If applicable for Canadian positions: French language skills preferred)
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong math skills, including the ability to compute percentages, ratios, and interpret graphs
- Proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel, and other Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines with moderate complexity
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to set and achieve goals independently
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
- Primarily a sedentary role requiring prolonged sitting and use of a computer
- Occasional travel may be required, including overnight stays
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
