POSITION OVERVIEW:
This position is a critical support role for the Warehouse Team. As a Shipping Clerk, you will play a vital role in our logistics team. Your responsibilities will include processing shipments, verifying orders, and ensuring accurate documentation. Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment are crucial for success in this role.
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborating with swing shift leads to streamline daily workflow, involving frequent tasks like printing BOLs, order selection data, and re-printing pick labels.
- Support the receiving clerk in pass-down duties and stay proactive in communicating with the transportation team regarding routes or receiving changes for the evening order selection shift.
- Coordinate with the warehouse team to prioritize trailer movement based on workflow, while meticulously recording all trailer movements and locations.
- Effectively communicate with dispatch, warehouse personnel, and truck drivers to ensure an efficient trailer flow, while also managing the balance of loading versus picking and trailer movements.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Assist with maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the warehouse and office as necessary.
- Other duties and special projects as requested.
- Maintain safe work practices.
- Maintain safeguards of confidential company information.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Must be a highly motivated self-starter and be able to work independently.
- Must be detail oriented.
- Need to be able to adapt to changing conditions.
- Have ability to listen and follow directions.
- Must be able to follow established procedures.
- Must have a good attendance record.
- Must be able to communicate in English both written and orally.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 2 years prior experience in warehousing with administration skills.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Indoor/cooler office environment. Indoor environment exposure to room temperature, freezer temperature, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment. The work environment can be noisy due to the movement of equipment and vehicles in the yard/warehouse.
