GSI is seeking a Senior Sustainability Engineer with experience related to sustainability compliance and strategy focusing on GHG quantification and decarbonization. You will play a key role in shaping and expanding GSI's corporate sustainability strategy practice. Additionally, there will be opportunities to contribute across the broader climate strategy landscape, including, but not limited to, climate transition and scenario planning, climate-related financial assessments, and sustainability disclosure preparation.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and manage GHG inventories (Scope 1, 2, and 3) and to evaluate emission reduction measures.
- Support and develop sound and practical climate related strategies for clients.
- Understand the impacts of supply chain and evaluation of supply chain strategy for sustainable operations.
- Prepare written reports based on critical evaluation of results
- Engage with clients on data collection and discussion on analysis and strategy
- Engage directly with clients, including senior leadership, to provide education on sustainability-related topics, present and discuss your own analytical work and recommendations.
- Draft client deliverables in collaboration with other team members.
- Contribute to GSI’s thought leadership through promotion with webinars, blogs, and other initiatives.
- Demonstrates strong people management skills; particularly the ability to support, coach and celebrate others to advance employee engagement and achieve results.
- Mentors junior staff in the proper planning and execution of projects, and in directing or conducting independent technical reviews of deliverable work products.
- Manages a team of two to five junior consultants.
- Identifies, evaluates, cultivates and manages partnerships and relationships with senior clients, external stakeholders and key opinion leaders.
- Effectively collaborates internally to bring our services to existing clients.
- Enhance GSI’s capability to support sales and delivery of Climate and Sustainability services.

Qualifications/Requirements:
- 5-7 years of experience in professional consulting or corporate sustainability management with a focus on GHG accounting and decarbonization.
- Technical degree in science or engineering, graduate degree preferred.
- Experience engaging cross functional teams to solve problems.
- Thorough understanding of compliance related sustainability reporting.
- Excellent communication skills, particularly in translating highly technical information for a non-technical audience through workshops and presentations.
