Job Title: Teradata Data Warehouse Architect (Hybrid Onsite)
Location: Lansing, MI
Duration: 1 year (with the possibility of extension)
Pay Rate:
- $110/hr (C2C / 1099, all-inclusive)
OR
- $100/hr (W2)
Interview Process:
- Interviews will be virtual.
- A screenshot photo of the candidate will be required for the interview.
- A vendor will be present at the start of any MS Teams interview to validate the candidate's identity.
- 2nd round interviews may be held onsite at the Lansing office.
Note:
- This is a hybrid position, requiring the candidate to be onsite 2 days per week (mandatory).
- Candidates must be local to Mid-Michigan. The hiring manager is not interested in relocation candidates.
- No remote-only options are available.
Job Responsibilities:
- Linux Security Model:
- Oversee complex Linux security model on Data Warehouse (DW) ETL servers.
- Although the servers are managed by another group, you will be in charge of the security structure and user access authorization for various groups and sudo users.
- Teradata Security and Access:
- Responsible for the security and access control of the Teradata system.
- Common Batch Framework and Scheduler:
- Manage the Common Batch Framework and Common Scheduler to ensure that reliable, up-to-date data is available for business processes and decision-making.
- Data Warehouse Change Management:
- Manage change management infrastructure for the Data Warehouse.
- Promote code and DDL (Data Definition Language) changes through manual and automated processes.
- DW Standards and Policies:
- Ensure that Data Warehouse standards, processes, and procedures are followed.
- Make sure all work aligns with State of Michigan's SOM policies.
- Elevated Access and Audits:
- Conduct audits on elevated access and user activities.
- Audit Mitigation:
- Address any audit findings and provide input for System Security Plans (SSPs).
- Data Warehouse Continuity Planning:
- Lead and test the Data Warehouse continuity plans to ensure smooth operations.
- Issue Troubleshooting and Resolution:
- Provide support for escalated issues related to the Data Warehouse and help resolve them.
Required Skills and Experience:
- State of Michigan DHHS Data Warehouses:
- Experience supporting one or more State of Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Data Warehouses.
- Teradata Experience:
- At least 12 years of experience working with Teradata.
- SQL Experience:
- At least 10 years of experience with SQL.
- Shell Scripting Experience:
- At least 10 years of experience with shell scripting.
- Linux Experience:
- At least 5 years of experience working with Linux.
- Data Integration:
- Experience supporting the loading of data from multiple source systems into the Data Warehouse.
- Training and Expertise:
- Provide targeted training and technical guidance to development teams to help them troubleshoot and support their batch jobs.
- Independent and Collaborative Work:
- A proven ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
- Decision-Making Skills:
- Able to make clear and effective decisions on the best path forward, maintaining consistency across tasks and situations.
