Responsibilities Of Learning Support Mentor
- Support students in and out of the classroom to foster a positive learning experience.
- Assist in the implementation of individual learning plans tailored to student needs.
- Work with students on a one-to-one or small group basis to build confidence and skills.
- Help manage classroom behaviour and ensure a safe, inclusive environment.
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff to monitor progress and adapt strategies.
- Provide additional support to students with special educational needs (SEN) where required.
- Act as a role model, offering mentorship and guidance to encourage personal development.
- Previous experience in a learning support or similar role is advantageous.
- SEN experience is a bonus but not essential.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students and staff.
- A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to working with young learners.
- Commitment to creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
- Work in a collaborative and supportive team that values your contributions.
