Description
Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end management and innovation of GSM's portfolio of software applications, taking charge from conceptualization through launch and ongoing program management.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and key stakeholders to define and refine GSM applications while ensuring alignment with evolving industry standards and best practices.
- Provide strategic direction by directing the review and decision-making process for GSM applications, leveraging insights from risk assessments and market trends to guide informed decisions.
- Recommend and document software development best practices, testing practices, standard tooling, and infrastructure to promote code maintainability, security, and quality.
- Establish and implement robust policies, procedures, and reporting mechanisms to rigorously monitor, evaluate, and test the performance of GSM applications, ensuring a culture of transparency and accountability.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing engineering organization, attracting and retaining top engineering talent.
- Implement best practices and methodologies for software development, quality assurance, and project management to optimize efficiency and productivity.

- Experience leading multiple development teams across various value streams providing nurturing leadership and talent development efforts for successful project delivery, application, and platform support.
- A technically strong individual with a broad and deep knowledge of hardware platforms, operating systems, software development languages, commercially leading database management systems, storage technologies, data communications, data center operations, and cloud services.
- Experience working with enterprise level systems in the AWS environment and ensure stable and reliable services with industry standard backup and recover systems in place.
- Ability to motivate and manage diverse technical staff and resources in multiple projects through all life-cycle phases, while establishing direction and standards and maintaining a high level of user trust and confidence in the group's knowledge of and concern for users' business needs.
- Innovative thinker who understands the practical application of technology and is able to plan for systems today that will carry the organization into the future.
- Experience managing offshore and onshore development teams and delivering professional on schedule results.
- A track record of successfully developing and implementing IS strategies at an enterprise level, including the research, selection, implementation, operation and maintenance of large-scale systems over multiple hardware and software platforms.
- Experience in the outdoor industry is ideal, with an understanding of the industry's drivers, direction and operations.
Required Education And Experience
- 20 years of relevant experience.
- 10 years of leadership experience at a VP or Director level.
- Bachelor's degree is computer science, information systems, engineering, or mathemetics required.
- MBA or equivalent required.
