Roofing Sales/Estimator (Commercial)

GSM is looking to add a Commercial Roofing Sales/Estimator to our team. We are looking for someone with previous experience in a warehouse role. If you have great work ethic and reliability, we would love to get to know you!

Experience: More than 4 years

Skill Level:

• Responsible for preparing accurate estimates, detailed material packages, and schedules for re-roof and new roof low and steep slope roof systems.
• Examine plans, as well as specifications, and scopes of work to develop detailed take-offs which include the labor and material needed to complete roofing phases of construction.
• Using independent judgment provide detailed analysis of material packages, labor rates, and schedules.
• Provide information for planning meetings.
• Assess and monitor cost effectiveness of products, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops.
• Sales for Commercial Roofing Projects:

TPO, PVC, EPDM, Asphalt

Architectural Metal Systems

Wall Hung Canopy

Metal Wall Systems

Other Metal Fabrications associated with construction industry.

• Supports leadership and coworkers while maintaining the mission, vision and beliefs of GSM Services
• Perform Job Site inspections related to gathering information for roof repairs and reroofing.
• Accuracy of Estimates and Labor Calculations
• Maintain positive working relationship with customers and clients to meet GSM Services standards of excellence.
• Reports to manager on sales as required and requested.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Knowledge of Commercial Roofing Systems, Installation, and Repair practices.
• Knowledge of customer service principles and practices.
• Bid preparation, quantity take-offs, cost analysis and project scheduling experience.
• Proficiency in blueprint reading.
• Proficiency in using On Screen takeoff software.
• Knowledge of how estimating affects all other areas of the company.
• Knowledge of competitive bid process.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Team player with excellent communication skills.
• Demonstrated analytical and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to multi-task and maintain ability to prepare accurate quotes while working under timelines.
• Position requires critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work independently; self-directed, takes initiative in seeking efficiencies of processes; follow-through on implementation.

• Skill in operating personal computer and programs such as scheduling, spreadsheet, database, and word processing software.
• Ability to perform accurate data entry.
