Account Manager Personnel assist with a distinct and set list of major customers and they are the primary point of contact for these accounts. Account Managers and will be responsible for all things related to those accounts, including, but not limited to: processing customer orders and related transactions, expediting customer orders, growing the business, and working in conjunction with the assigned Sales Engineer to take care of any other problems, issues, or tasks. In these roles, Account Manager Personnel must listen and understand the customer’s needs and then determine how to efficiently and profitably meet those needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following items.
- Understand customer business priorities and processes.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with aligned customers and strategic suppliers.
- Receive incoming customer phone calls, emails, and other communications from their accounts. Access Customers Portals to decipher demand and service requirements.
- Prioritize and organize prompt decisions, communication with customers, the assigned Sales Engineer, and National Account Manager.
- Support the GT Sales Engineers/National Account Manager by quoting product, entering orders and expediting orders on a timely basis.
- Identify and document opportunities for additional sales and then pursue those opportunities to a conclusion, sometimes independently, and sometimes in cooperation with the Sales Engineer, National Account Manager or Product Specialist.
- Ability to read and work with BOM’s (bill of materials) and assembly drawings (prints)
- Resolve quality issues, application issues, and customer complaints in a timely manner. Work with Quality Assurance and the Quality Managers at GT and with Suppliers and Customers to drive high levels of quality.
- Negotiate profitable pricing and other commercial issues and renegotiate as circumstances change.
- Document key activities in GT’s CRM system.
- Comply with all the requirements contained in GT’s Employee Handbook, Policy and Procedure Database, Quality Manual and Quality Policies.
- Continual focus and alignment to GT’s emphasis on self-development and continuous improvement.
Develop into a subject matter expert on customer product applications and intensions. Represent those with collaborative business partners and GT stakeholders
Requirements
Preferred skills, education and experience:
· Must demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills
· Competent use of Microsoft Office products, ERP systems and CRM systems.
· High energy, ability to thrive in a dynamic workplace environment.
· Exceptional organization and time management skills.
· Quality Management or Quality Assurance Experience preferred.
· Manufacturing and Distribution Background is a plus.
· Bachelor’s Degree or Relevant Professional Background.
