Job Focus:
Gloyer-Taylor Laboratories (GTL) is a growing Aerospace company developing a range of technologies including high performance liquid hydrogen storage systems which will enable a new class of aircraft and rocket systems.
As a Business Development Manager, you are expected to thrive in an environment where you are responsible for the management and execution of the business development process across multiple simultaneous pursuits and proposals in a high-paced environment. You are expected to identify gaps and emerging program requirements, perform market and economic analysis, conduct business intelligence, design, and execute approved capture plans, and monitor competitor activity. You will be responsible for achieving the sales and marketing goals for the target markets you are assigned. You will maintain a healthy pipeline of opportunities and execute cost-effective win strategies to achieve sales objectives. Essentially, you will drive and expand GTL products and services into the air, space, sea and land markets.
Work includes exposure to export restricted materials and work eligibility confirmed by E-Verify. All job offers will be contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check.
Job Duties:
- Contacting potential clients to establish rapport and arrange meetings.
- Planning and overseeing new marketing initiatives.
- Researching organizations and individuals to find new opportunities.
- Increasing the value of current customers while attracting new ones.
- Finding and developing new markets and improving sales.
- Attending conferences, meetings, and industry events.
- Developing quotes and proposals for clients.
- Developing goals for the development team and business growth and ensuring they are met.
- Training personnel and helping team members develop their skills.
- Support business development efforts such as writing proposals, meeting customers, and identifying business opportunities.
- Support GTL management as necessary.
Desired Skills/Experience:
GTL is seeking candidates specifically with an engineering background and with sales, marketing and business development experience. Since GTL offers such a diverse line of products and services, candidates are expected to be flexible and comfortable working on multiple assignments with varying subject matter. The ideal candidate would have the following experience:
- Bachelor of Science degree and an advanced degree in engineering or science equivalent preferred or equivalent experience
- Familiarity with DOD, DOE, NASA and aerospace marketplace and contracting process
- Previous work experience in aerospace companies, US Government Agencies, or US National Labs
- Experience in sales, marketing, or related field.
- Strong communication skills and IT fluency.
- Strong proposal and technical report writing skills
- Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to flourish with minimal guidance, be proactive, and handle uncertainty.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Comfortable using a computer for various tasks.
