Scope of Responsibility
The Clinic Account Collection Specialist is responsible for the patient financial service functions including patient refunds, pre-payments, payroll deductions, and customer service calls. Other duties to include are payment posting functions, such as confirming deposits, researching un-postables, and balancing to the bank. Follow-up on unpaid claims, research, and correct unpaid claims for resubmission and communicates with Billing / Coders with any trends on denials.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2-3 years previous medical billing / claims experience required
- 2-3 years previous customer service skills required
- Experience with insurance, and data entry required
- Strong multi-tasking, organizational skills
- Computer skills, knowledge of Physician EMR systems preferred
