At GRMC’s Urgent Care located in Clear Springs, our providers care for the entire family – from pediatrics to geriatrics. We offer a full range of urgent care services, from broken bones, to the flu and more. The Urgent Care at Clear Springs welcomes walk-ins and also offers sports and band physicals, which saves you time and cost!
Purpose of Position
The primary purpose of this position is to assist the provider with patient care and coordinate with other members of the healthcare team to insure high quality patient care.
Scope of Responsibility
Medical Assistants and/or Licensed Vocational Nurses in the Urgent Care will perform duties under the supervision of a physician. Interviews patients and prepare them for provider exam and treatment, measures vital signs and records information in EHR system. Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients. Assist physician with procedures. Clean and sterilize instruments. Administer injections to patients. Coordinate discharge planning and follow up care of the patients.
Job Requirements
- High School Education or equivalent
- Certified Medical Assistant or equivalent years of experience, EMT or Paramedic experience or Current Licensure with The Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners
- Obtains and maintains American Heart Association BLS Healthcare Provider
- 1 to 2 years previous experience in a Primary Care office or Urgent Care preferred
- EHR experience preferred
- Competency with injections and vaccinations preferred
- Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
- Ability to effectively communicate to all levels of employees, management, visitors and outside sources
