GUAP is a design, marketing, manufacturing, and sourcing company that features branded Streetwear apparel and related accessories. The Company specializes in selling products across distribution tiers, including specialty stores, boutiques, department stores, mass-chain stores, and e-commerce.
We want creative, passionate and driven individuals to build an in-house team of artists and creatives. We are seeking like-minded people who love to create art, particularly regarding the Streetwear industry. Our goal is to have an evolutionary impact on its cultural.
The ideal candidate for this position is somebody who can create/design a collection from start to finish. You will work closely with the Creative Director to design, produce, and merchandise Streetwear apparel. We want to build a collective who will be respected in the fashion and hip-hop community.
Minimum Requirements
- (REQUIRED) Must provide a strong professional portfolio showcasing a wide range of design skills/abilities
- Extensive knowledge in Illustrator, and Photoshop
- Demonstrates ability to design raster and vector artwork
- Excellent typography and composition skills
- Strong organizational, communication and presentation skill
- Photography experience is a plus
- Applicants without a portfolio will not be considered.
Essential Job Functions
- Responsible for creating apparel graphics for our expanding men’s Streetwear brands
- Confidently share fresh perspectives that will enhance creativity and promote new ideas
- Creation of non-calendared Special Art Request graphic concepts
- National and international trend shopping, reference and research and development for multiple apparel embellishment techniques, including; screen print, heat transfers and appliques, embroidery, etc.
- Seek information regarding trends in Streetwear, hip hop culture apparel and pop culture, consumer insights, new business opportunities, and competitors in the market in order to influence design aesthetic and strategy through the development of mood / trend / ideation boards
- Demonstrate intermediate-level knowledge of color theory, concept development and brand guidelines
