Your work in our dynamic, fast-paced atmosphere will have a direct impact on our results. This position will be responsible for building out a small but effective commercial lines pricing data science team. The role will work closely with line of business actuaries and underwriting leaders and will report directly to GUARD’s chief actuary. This role will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing proprietary models that generate market leading risk segmentation across all lines of business. The candidate should have strong technical and analytical skills that can be put to use when needed, be able to communicate effectively across technical and non-technical audiences, and be able to lead and influence business partners. The position can be located anywhere in our office footprint of Wilkes-Barre (PA), New York City, Parsippany (NJ), Chicago, Philadelphia, Atlanta, or Phoenix. The successful candidate is expected to work in one of our offices 3 days per week and also be available for travel as required.Responsibilities to Include : Strategically oversee pricing model development for all Commercial LinesCollaborate with Underwriting and Product teams to enhance and maintain pricing productsEstablish a department practices for model design, tool selection, evaluating model performance, and prioritizationConduct industry research and collaborate with partners to create innovative approaches to improve pricing and portfolio performanceLead and develop a growing team of data scientistsBuild effective relationships with and thoroughly communicate analyses to business partners, the Chief Actuary, the CEO, and other Senior LeadersQualificationsExtensive experience of eight or more years in data science roles within commercial insurance, with Commercial Auto, General Liability, Property, and / or Workers Comp experience strongly preferredDemonstrated ability to effectively communicate results and strategic drivers to senior management while fostering partnerships with key stakeholdersExperience collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data and building high-performing modelsStrategically results-oriented with a proven ability to multitask and adapt priorities as neededProficiency in various modeling environments and programming languagesSalary Range$100,000-$210,000.00 USD with performance based bonus potentialThe annual base salary range posted represents a broad range of salaries around the U.S. and is subject to many factors including but not limited to credentials, education, experience, geographic location, job responsibilities, performance, skills and / or training.How to Apply : Interested candidates should submit their resume detailing their qualifications and experience online.Join Berkshire Hathaway GUARD Insurance Companies and be part of a team that values excellence, innovation, and customer satisfaction.
