The Vice President of Sales, Construction will lead and drive the sales strategies for our Tennessee division. This role is essential in establishing and nurturing relationships with key clients, achieving sales targets, and expanding our market presence. Knowledge of commercial security industry construction of access control, parking, and gates is strongly preferred.


Essential Job Functions

  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve company goals and sales targets
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the sales team to enhance performance and productivity
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients in the construction sector, including major retailers and distributors
  • Utilize CRM tools, particularly Sage 100 Contractor, to track sales metrics and customer interactions
  • Conduct market analysis to identify new opportunities and areas for growth within the construction industry
  • Collaborate with marketing and operations to align sales initiatives with overall company objectives
  • Provide regular reports and updates to executive management on sales performance and market trends
  • Create and maintain a business plan for the assigned territory to maintain and/or exceed sales and profit goals while maintaining excellent customer service
  • Identify, isolate, and investigate new opportunities to grow the Tennessee sales division
  • Complete job site visits with general contractors and client representatives to present available solutions and ensure that the system sold will meet or exceed their expectations
  • Ensure proposals, pertinent documentation, and paperwork are timely, accurate, and complete to include client signatures and approval prior to purchasing of equipment
  • Coordinate installation schedule between the customer, installation team, and all other pertinent parties involved including subcontractors
  • Follow up with customers throughout the project to ensure timely updates, system installation and training completion, and review of other sales opportunities
  • Represent a strong professional image to internal and external customers, vendors, and employees
  • Meticulously maintains all project file documentation and follows up with sales team as needed to ensure project status and completion updates are delivered timely
  • Apply critical thinking and solutions management skills to complex problems to maximize project success
  • Regular and punctual attendance at work and provides appropriate scheduling flexibility
  • Adherence to safety guidelines and policies
  • Other job-related duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • Proven experience as VP of Sales, Director of Sales, or Sales Director in the construction industry
  • Proficient knowledge and experience with CRM and ERP systems
  • Strong background in sales management and team leadership
  • Tactical experience with day to day management of assigned sales team, conducting and attending meetings, providing performance feedback, and quantitative KPI management
  • Able to travel up to 75% of the time for customer and vendor meetings
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including written, verbal, and presentation abilities
  • In-depth knowledge of construction markets, including access control, gates, and parking
  • Ability to analyze data and market trends to inform sales strategies
  • Ability to understand new construction and existing construction blueprints
  • As a condition of employment, employer will conduct a background check and drug screen prior to hire
  • Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record
  • Ability to understand, speak, and write English
  • High school diploma or GED required
