Position Overview
The Family Empowerment Coach will lead the implementation and execution of the United for Families (UFF) model at Guardian Angel Settlement Association. This initiative, funded by United Way of Greater St. Louis, is designed to support working families on their path to financial security through a whole-family case management approach. The Family Empowerment Coach will work one-on-one with families, helping them achieve housing stability, workforce advancement, financial mobility, and educational continuity for their children.
This is a unique opportunity for a dedicated professional to make a lasting impact on families in the St. Louis area by providing case management, financial coaching, and access to resources that promote self-sufficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Family Empowerment & Case Management
Provide one-on-one coaching to help families achieve housing stability, job retention, workforce advancement, and financial independence.
Develop personalized action plans with families to address financial literacy, employment goals, and educational stability for their children.
Ensure participants meet eligibility requirements, including employment status and income guidelines.
Conduct ongoing assessments to track progress and adapt strategies to meet families' evolving needs.
Program Implementation & Compliance
Recruit and enroll eligible program participants.
Implement the UFF case management model to fidelity, ensuring program integrity and effectiveness.
Maintain accurate, detailed case files with required documentation for financial assistance and program eligibility.
Provide monthly and quarterly reports tracking client progress and program outcomes.
Collaborate with United Way of Greater St. Louis and other partner agencies to enhance program effectiveness.
Community Engagement & Resource Coordination
Connect families with emergency financial assistance for housing, childcare, transportation, and workforce training.
Facilitate referrals to local support services, including employment training, financial coaching, and housing stability programs.
Participate in bi-monthly peer learning sessions and other professional development opportunities to improve program delivery.
Build relationships with community stakeholders to increase awareness and accessibility of UFF resources.
Qualifications
Passion for serving others and commitment to Guardian Angel’s mission.
Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, education, or a related field preferred.
At least two years of experience in case management, financial coaching, workforce development, or a related field.
Strong interpersonal and coaching skills to motivate and empower families.
Knowledge of affordable housing, financial literacy, and employment resources in the St. Louis area.
Excellent data management and reporting skills, with the ability to track program metrics and outcomes.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database systems (experience with Salesforce or other case management software preferred).
Ability to work independently while also collaborating within a team environment.
Willingness to travel locally for community meetings and partner collaborations.
