As we continue to grow, we are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Shipping and ReceivingManager to oversee and manage our shipping and receiving operations. In this role, you will ensure the timely, accurate, and efficient flow of materials and finished products.
Job Summary:
The Shipping and Receiving Manager will oversee the daily operations of the shipping and receiving department, ensuring that all incoming materials and outgoing products are handled efficiently and in accordance with company policies and safety standards. This role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and a thorough understanding of inventory management and logistics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and supervise the shipping and receiving team to ensure timely and accurate processing of shipments.
- Coordinate the receipt, storage, and distribution of raw materials and finished products.
- Oversee the packing, labeling, and shipping of Guardian Bikes’ products to customers and distributors.
- Ensure that inventory levels are properly tracked and maintained, minimizing stockouts and overstock situations.
- Work with vendors and suppliers to manage incoming shipments, resolving any issues with quality or delivery timelines.
- Monitor shipping costs and work to optimize processes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, company policies, and legal regulations related to shipping and receiving.
- Collaborate with production and inventory teams to ensure timely fulfillment of orders.
- Implement continuous improvements in shipping/receiving processes, including warehouse layout and material handling methods.
- Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing shipments, inventory levels, and product movements.
- Perform regular audits of inventory and shipping/receiving activities to ensure accuracy.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree in logistics, business, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in a shipping and receiving or logistics management role, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
- Knowledge of shipping software and warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of safety and compliance regulations related to shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in a physically demanding environment.
