We are seeking dedicated Flight Paramedics to deliver exceptional patient care in accordance with our protocols and medical direction. Assist in coverage of open shifts in the assigned area as needed.
Key Responsibilities :
Accurately complete and submit electronic patient care records for each flight dispatched, adhering to specified time frames and conducting daily base checks including narcotic counts.
Provide pre-hospital and intra-hospital advanced life support from the moment of initial contact until patient care is officially transferred to the accepting facility, ensuring detailed documentation of all patient care.
Enhance your knowledge and skills through participation in ongoing clinical and laboratory experiences.
Keep up-to-date documentation of required licenses, certifications, continuing education, safety protocols, and advanced procedures in the Employee Education Manual.
Become proficient in the use and maintenance of all emergency program equipment and supplies.
Cultivate positive relationships with colleagues, EMS representatives, medical facilities, and the public.
Perform duties as a medical flight team member effectively.
Participate in pre-mission briefings and debriefings, and ensure necessary documentation is completed.
Assist during pre-mission liftoff checklists and provide any needed support to Pilots, including communication and navigation assistance.
Ensure compliance with safety standards to protect self, medical personnel, patient, and equipment prior to take-off.
Conduct aircraft safety briefings as necessary.
Additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications : Experience :
A minimum of three (3) years of experience in an Advanced Life Support or critical care environment is required.
Flight experience is preferred.
Education :
Possession of a current EMT-P license / certification specific to the areas served is required.
AHA certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP are mandatory before flight status. Trauma certification must be obtained within six months of hire.
Advanced Certification (FP-C) is preferred and must be secured within 12 months of hire.
Instructor certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS / PEPP, and ITLS / PHTLS are desirable.
NREMT-P certification may be necessary depending on the assigned area.
Physical Requirements :
Willingness to shave facial hair (if necessary) to ensure a proper fit for an N95 mask.
Ability to utilize gross and fine motor skills for effective patient care activities.
Capability to lift and / or move up to 150 pounds with assistance.
Specific vision capabilities including close, distant, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Flexibility to work various shifts as needed.
