Job Description
Incentives for Flight Nurses:
- Starting range $92,000-$95,000 annually.
- $10,000 Sign-on Bonus payable in two installments following the end of training.
- Schedule is a 3 days on/6 days off rotation.
- Company paid crew housing while on shift.
We are seeking Flight Nurses to provide direct patient care in accordance with GMR protocols and/or medical direction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess each situation to determine the best course of action to support, monitor, and treat patients in critical care situations.
- Utilize critical thinking skills to manage critically ill or injured adult or pediatric patients and support physicians' orders.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and well-stocked aircraft environment, perform regular equipment and base checks, and comply with safety standards and briefings.
- Work collaboratively and effectively communicate in a professional manner with air and ground teams, dispatch, flight crews, facilities, and partners.
- Share shift change information with transitioning teams and follow protocols to maintain accurate company and regulatory documentation and records.
- Nurses are accountable for maintaining required certifications and ongoing training required for the position.
Qualifications:
Experience:
- A minimum of three (3) years' experience in an emergency or critical care setting is required.
- Flight experience is preferred.
Education:
- Current RN licensure in the states served by the assigned area is required.
- EMT Certification in state(s) where required.
- AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP are required prior to flight status. Trauma certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
- Advanced Certification (CEN, CCRN, CFRN) is preferred and required within 12 months from date of hire.
- Instructor certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS/PEPP, ITLS/PHTLS are preferred.
Physical Demands:
- The ability to shave facial hair (if needed) to fit a N95 mask is required.
- The ability to possess gross and fine motor skills necessary to provide safe and effective patient care activities is required.
- Lifting and/or moving up to 150 pounds cumulative with assistance is required.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distant vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- The ability to work a flexible work schedule is required.
