What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Transformation Portfolio Analyst, Group Benefits position at Guardian Life Insurance Company?
As the Business Transformation Portfolio Analyst, you will execute on and support the Group Benefits Transformation strategy for the organization’s transformation initiatives. You will collaborate closely with the Portfolio Management Office and cross-functional Group Benefits partners as required. The Group Benefits Portfolio will enable our organization to provide more efficient and improved customer service as well as new growth opportunities and modernization efforts which in turn will help us realize our financials goals.
You are responsible for supporting annual planning, coordination and execution of activities related to the organization’s transformation goals, helping to drive a robust business demand and capacity management process, supporting transparent reporting across the portfolio and focusing on continuous improvement of our program and portfolio management processes and templates leading to the successful implementation and deployment of new functionality for the marketplace.
- Helps manage planning and prioritization processes for the capital portfolio
- Ensures transparency of the portfolio health through supporting our partners with regular, concise and transparent reporting
- Oversees business resource demand and capacity management process for the portfolio
- Supports business intake of new projects both at annual planning time and intra-year
- Coordinate activities across cross functional teams to ensure alignment with portfolio goals
- Serve as a point of contact for program-related and portfolio inquiries and communications
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among internal and external stakeholders
- Monitor portfolio progress, track metrics, identify potential risks or delays and help manage and support the teams to find quick solutions
- Maintain accurate and updated documentation of program and portfolio activities and deliverables
- Support implementation of tools, systems or processes to streamline program and portfolio management operations
- Adapt plans and priorities and follow-up with partners as needed to ensure portfolio remails on track
- Maintain healthy working relationships with internal and external team members and provide timely responses to business stakeholders by engaging with the team and other stakeholders
You Have:
- BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience, minimum of 3 years supporting execution of complex and/or multi-year transformative programs across Business and IT
- Strong analytical and project management skills
- Strong Group Insurance knowledge is a plus
- Experience working in a SAFe agile software development environment
- Deep understanding of technical capabilities with and understanding of how to translate business needs into features
- Experience with Agile toolset (JIRA, JIRA-ALIGN, Confluence). Creative thinker with ability to think outside the box and translate strategies into actions. Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to juggle multiple priorities
- Team player with proven ability to foster and manage working relationships within a matrixed environment with a positive attitude
- Strong influencing and communication skills with ability to “tell the story"
Location and Work Arrangement:
- Preferred locations include the following Guardian Offices: Bethlehem, PA; Boston, MA; Holmdel, NJ; and New York, NY.
- The work arrangement will be hybrid.
Salary Range:
$67,450.00 - $110,815.00
The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
