We are now looking for a US Political Correspondent to help the DC team cover the second Trump administration by bringing political and foreign policy expertise.

- Report analytical stories and global-facing explainers on the political news of the day.
- Write multiple politics and breaking political stories a day.
- Write sharp, clean copy under tight deadlines.
- Pitch multiple ideas every morning, drawing together themes from the day's news.
- Contribute to weekly politics meetings.
About You
- Strong reporting and writing skills.
- Ability to synthesize the news of the day into leading politics stories.
- Ideally have sources throughout Washington and in the diplomatic community
- Many years experience covering politics and foreign affairs in DC and abroad
- Strong grasp of the Guardian's readers in the US and internationally
- An ability to generate fresh ideas and angles for stories and storytelling formats.
- Excellent writing, communication and research skills.

Compensation and Benefits
- Salary: $93,000 - $99,500 annually
