Job description
This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing real estate management company as a senior property accountant. The position will oversee all property accounting for a portfolio of multifamily acquisitions, development, and management.
Responsibilities/ Job Duties
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements for assigned properties within the portfolio
- Prepare Balance Sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules and Analyze the Balance Sheet and Income Statement accounts for accuracy.
- Prepare and post journal entries to the General Ledger, including bank reconciliations.
- Oversee and manage transactions from Accounts Receivables and Accounts Payable across the portfolio
- Work alongside Property Management to prepare tenant reconciliation settlements in accordance with stipulated lease terms including, but not limited to, operating expenses, real estate taxes, and utilities.
- Deliver consistently high-quality and timely reporting
- Please prepare additional financial reports to be included in the Financial Package as the client requested.
- Analyze and post end-of-year audit adjusting entries.
- Provide assistance and guidance to Property Management by answering questions regarding monthly Financial Statements and other related matters.
- Monitor real estate taxes, insurance and replacement reserves
- Additional assignments and duties – as may be assigned from time to time
Education
- BS/BA Degree in Accounting or equivalent experience
- CPA preferred (not required)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Three years (experience with accounting, property management, real estate, or residential management preferred
- Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Must have strong proficiency with AppFolio, QuickBooks, and Excel.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication, collaboration, and time management skills
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work independently
Salary : $50,000 - $80,000
