The Housekeeper/Laundry Attendant performs routine daily tasks in a safe and efficient manner to clean guest rooms, public restrooms, and public areas of Smith Creek Village, including administrative offices and public common areas. Duties include stripping and making beds, cleaning bathrooms, vacuuming hallways, and operating commercial laundry equipment to provide a daily supply of clean linens and employee uniforms for all park operations. Quickly and accurately sort and fold clean laundry by hand. Clean common and public areas, including the offices and restrooms in the Administration building. This position reports to the Housekeeping Supervisor.Job Description:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Clean assigned areas as directed by management and in compliance with the Company's "green- " initiatives. Routine daily tasks in a safe and efficient manner to clean guest rooms, public restrooms, and public areas of the property, including stripping and making beds, cleaning bathrooms, and vacuuming hallways.
- Dust and clean all furniture, picture frames, mirrors, windows, baseboards, carpet edges, inside and outside door panels, door ledges, and thresholds. Pull trash from trash receptacles. Replace trash bags as needed.
- Clear trash from tables and floors/grounds.
- Clean and vacuum under beds, desk, gaming tables, and behind nightstands.
- Check and replace all missing items in the rooms, including soaps, shampoos, conditioners, hangers, clocks, ice bucket liners, hair dryers, brochures, and stationery, etc. Clean and ensure bathtubs, tub ledges, sinks, vanity shelves, toilets, bathroom scales, tissue box covers, and soap dishes are spot, mold, mildew, and dust free.
- Sweep and mop all bathroom floors.
- Dust all lights and sconces, make-up mirrors, and lampshades.
- Carry clean linens and supplies up multiple flights of stairs.
- Move dirty linens and garbage to assigned area.
- Stock linen closets with clean linen throughout the day.
- Perform laundry duties as assigned.
- Report needed repairs and turn in lost & found items to the housekeeping supervisor.
- Notify Supervisor of all quality control issues or needed repairs pertaining to the housekeeping of the facility. Maintain awareness of safety issues and report them immediately to your manager.
- Sort high volume of laundry and operate laundry machinery to clean and sanitize clothes and linens used by the facility.¯
- Load and unload machinery.¯Work safely using detergents, bleach, and other cleaning solutions to clean articles following company safety standards.¯
- Sort and fold¯by hand all clean linens, towels, and uniforms.¯
- Clean laundry machinery, filters, and vents regularly. Maintain clean and clear laundry workspace. Promptly report any safety issues to management.
- Maintain accurate inventory controls.¯
- Follow established safe handling procedures for linens potentially contaminated by blood borne pathogens (BBP).
- Maintain cleanliness of administration offices and restrooms regularly through vacuuming, sweeping, moping, dusting, wiping down fixtures, etc.
- Performs such other related duties as directed or required.
SKILL AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE
- High School Diploma/G.E.D. or preferred equivalent.
- Strong sanitation habits include attention to detail and an ability to learn and follow important safety precautions. Strong customer service abilities; actively looking for ways to assist customers and coworkers.
- Ability to recognize when a problem has occurred and communicate it to management.
EQUIPMENT USED
- Housekeeping cart, golf cart or slow speed vehicle, variety of cleaning chemicals and supplies, vacuum cleaner, guest linens, laundry bags.
- Cleaning Supplies (including detergents, chemicals, vacuums, mops, brooms, scourers, hand towels, etc.).
- Required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) used : goggles and gloves.
