JOB SUMMARY
The Snack Bar Attendant provides friendly and efficient service to guests by preparing and serving food and beverages, operating the point-of-sale system, and maintaining cleanliness in the snack bar and outside dining areas. This position plays a key role in ensuring a positive guest experience through excellent customer service and attention to detail. The Snack Bar Attendant does not perform any cooking on the grill or fryer but is responsible for food handling, stocking, and general upkeep of the snack bar.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Greets guests with a friendly and welcoming demeanor, answers questions, and provides information about menu items and the resort.- Prepares and serves pre-packaged and ready-to-eat food items, as well as beverages including alcoholic drinks. Operates the point-of-sale (POS) system, processes transactions accurately, and handles end-of-shift cash reconciliation.
- Maintains a clean and organized work environment, including dishwashing, sanitizing surfaces, and managing trash disposal. Stocks and replenishes snack bar items, assists in monitoring inventory levels, and communicates any supply needs to the supervisor.
- Follows all food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure compliance with health regulations.
- Assists with setting up and closing down the snack bar as needed.
- Maintains a professional and team-orientated attitude while working in a fast-paced environment. Performs other duties as assigned by management.
SKILLS AND KNOWEDGE REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE
- High school diploma/G.E.D. equivalent preferred. TIPS Certification or ability to obtain and maintain, required.
- Previous experience in food service or customer service preferred. Basic knowledge of food handling and sanitation practices.
- Strong customer service skills with a proactive approach to assisting guests.
- Ability to follow instructions and multitask efficiently.
- Computer proficiency with the ability to use common business software applications such as Microsoft Office.
- Ability to operate a point-of-sale (POS) system, including ability to consistently handle monetary transactions and end-of-day deposits.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly frequent movements from place to place within the unit. Bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment.- Lifting, carrying and pushing up to twenty-five (25) pound regularly, thirty (30) to thirty-five (35) pounds frequently, and up to fifty (50) pounds occasionally.
- Ability to stand for the entire work day and to climb steps regularly.
- Withstanding temperature extremes in indoor and outdoor environments.
- Withstanding temperature extremes in freezer, refrigerator walk-in and grill areas. Consistently communicates and receives verbal communication with other employees in fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays according to department needs.
- Physical presence at the job site is essential to perform job duties.
