Position Summary
Guggenheim Investments is seeking a Junior-Level Insurance Portfolio Manager. This position reports to a Senior Portfolio Manager and will have responsibility for a specific set of insurance clients. The Junior-Level Portfolio Manager supports senior portfolio managers with client business strategy, portfolio analysis, and maximizing capital efficient returns. Candidates must possess portfolio management experience to include structuring portfolios with non-indexed structured securities, asset backed securities, alternatives (real estate, infrastructure, military housing, and structured products) and other esoteric credit asset classes. This is an on-site position, with options to join the corporate offices in New York, New York; Santa Monica, California; or Clayton, Missouri.
Essential Job Functions
- Assists senior portfolio managers, sector teams and Insurance strategists to understand client business needs and implement investment process and strategies to address
- Monitors portfolios daily to ensure compliance with client guidelines, strategies, risk objectives, and liquidity requirements
- Analyzes insurance client performance including book yield, total return, stress testing, and performance attribution in support of the portfolio manager
- Assists the Senior Portfolio Manager with client communications, presentations, meeting material preparations, and ad hoc analyses
- Reviews scheduled client reports
- Completes other tasks as assigned by the senior portfolio manager
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical foundation to grasp various fixed income investment strategies.
- Problem solving skills and developing ability to independently lead or participate on projects and analyze processes and procedures as assigned.
- Ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Organized, detail oriented and thorough while developing communication skills to ensure work. processes are completed as directed.
- CFA Level 1
Basic Qualifications
- Undergraduate Degree required, preferably with concentrations in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field. MBA and/or CFA is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Team oriented individual with ability to work well with diverse groups.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Salary Details
The annual base salary for this role is between $115,000 - $125,000. The base salary range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for this position. Actual base salaries may vary depending on factors such as location and experience. The range listed reflects base salary only, and the total compensation package may include other components such as incentive compensation.
