DESCRIPTION
The Intake Specialist is responsible for receiving and processing incoming client requests, managing client relationships, and maintaining a comprehensive database. The Intake Specialist will work closely with multiple departments to ensure that all clients receive the highest level of customer service throughout the intake process.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Welcome clients and check them in.
- Answer multi-line phone system and direct calls appropriately.
- Act as the first point of contact for incoming client requests and support them in completing intake forms and documents.
- Gather information from clients in a clear, concise, and confidential way.
- Assess client needs and determine the most appropriate level of service.
- Verify client insurance eligibility.
- Lock reception area and forward phones at the end of day.
- Confirm counseling appointments and update as necessary.
- Collection of fees from clients; balance receipts.
- Ensure that all billing and recording functions are conducted in compliance with all ethical and legal standards.
- Assist with office procedures and other duties as assigned by the Supervisor and / or Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Education and Experience
LEVEL AND DEGREE OF SUPERVISION
Supervised by the Administrative Office Manager. Supervision to include personal supervision and participation in general staff meetings and team meetings.
CONDITIONS OF WORK
Hiring and promotion will be accomplished in compliance with the GCLC's Affirmative Action Policy. This position is non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act. Overtime (time and ½) will be paid for hours worked in excess of 40 hours per week. This position requires 40 hours per week, generally Monday through Friday. Hours or days may vary according to need. Travel is required of employees for delivery of services, training, or conferences. Personal transportation is mandatory.
