JOB DESCRIPTION: PROGRAMS MANAGER, LEARNING NEW WORKS
Guild Hall seeks a Programs Manager to join the Learning New Works department.
The Programs Manager, Learning New Works (L NW) administratively supports a range of programs, including the Guild Hall Teen Arts Council (GHTAC), the Student Art Festival, Exhibitions Tours Workshops, Public Talks Lectures, and Guild Hall’s 2 Residency programs: The Guild Hall William P. Rayner Artists-in-Residence Program and Community Artist-in-Residence.
The position will have the opportunity to work with a wide range of visual, performing, and literary artists, from students to members of Guild Hall’s Academy of the Arts. The position reports directly to the Theater Director | Curator of Performing Arts, and will work closely with both the Museum Director | Curator of Visual Arts, and the Marketing & Communications departments on public programs and special projects.
Ideal candidates will be detail-oriented, highly organized, and clear communicators who center care, patience, equity, and collaboration in their daily work practice.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
· Lead Exhibition Tours Workshops (in partnership with designated Artist-Educator).
· Co-lead weekly meetings of the Guild Hall Teen Arts Council with visiting artist and/or designated Artist-Educator.
· Coordinate the bi-annual Student Art Festival Exhibition, including in-school artists-in- residence.
· Coordinate & Produce all Exhibition Related Talks Lectures in Guild Hall’s galleries, theater, and off-site locations in collaboration with the Museum Director | Curator of Visual Arts.
· Provide administration and operations support for the L NW department: draft agendas and meeting minutes, support scheduling, and track expenses for departmental budgets.
· Provide additional support for L NW programs and institution-wide programs, including workshops and residencies, Museum & Theater openings, building activations, off-site programs, and benefit events.
QUALIFICATIONS AND QUALITIES
· Two to three years of experience and success in community engagement and arts education, organizing, project and event management, public programming, program development, and budgeting.
· Experience working with local residents and community organizations; familiarity with East End of Long Island preferred; bilingual speakers (Spanish/English) preferred.
· Excellent organizational, oral, written, interpersonal, and communication skills with attention to detail; politically and culturally aware and diplomatic.
· A creative thinker and imaginative problem solver; agile, resilient, and responsive to shifts in both opportunities and challenges.
· Ability to work as part of a team; highly collaborative and open-minded.
· Willingness to work select weekends and weeknights to accommodate the needs of the job.
COMPENSATION
The salary for this position is $60,000 - $70,000 per year.
