Qualifications
Knowledge, background, and experience working in coffee preparation, bar management and hospitality environments. At least 1 year prior experience in a leadership position in a cafe/coffee shop environment.

Responsibilities
Barista
Demonstrate leadership in barista and bartender tasks during scheduled shifts, such as preparing drinks, providing an outstanding customer experience, operating point of sale, stocking products, and cleaning bar
Maintain extensive coffee knowledge as it pertains to brewing, coffee menu, and Junior’s Roasted Coffee buying practices
Know origins and stories of coffees available, and communicate knowledge to guests
Learn and understand food menu
Maintain wine and beer knowledge
Execute Hospitality Guidelines
Ensure proper food-handling procedures, sanitation, and cleanliness in food service areas
Ensure organization and cleanliness of the bar and dining areas
Dishwashing
Manager
Supervise, lead and support FOH staff and BOH staff (in partnership with the Kitchens Manager).
Act as the contact for staff for day-to-day cafe operations.
Direct, motivate and recognize cafe team members.
Ensure weekly chores are being completed, assign new chore list each week
Provide weekly updates on staff performance and cafe operations to GM
Oversee ordering and vendor relationships:
Weekly inventory checks of front of house supplies (coffee/tea, dairy/non-dairy, paper, linen, misc)
Communicate with vendor representatives as needs and issues arise
Compare invoices with received product
Ensure that needs are met between orders should something run out (arrange pick-ups, delivery, will-call, etc.)
Organization of inventory in storage closet, under stairs, and behind the bar
End of month inventory front of house (N/A beverages amd merchandise)
Work Conditions

Hours/Days
Full Time: 5 days/week (37.5 hours)
There will be administrative time available during daily shifts.
Compensation & Benefits
This is an exempt (hourly) position. This is a management position that does not oversee staff scheduling which will allow it to stay in the tip pool under company policy. Starting wage is $16.50/hr. Credit card tips are pooled with payroll and currently average a minimum of $8/hr. If card tips go under $8/hr, the company makes up the difference. Cash tips are pooled by shift and average $0.50-$1/hr. Sick leave/PTO will be paid at $24.50/hr. A wage review takes place during the annual performance review with a 3-3.5% wage increase.
