DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Develops proposals coordinates data collection and analysis, and conducts surveys and gathers data as requested,. Implements approved proposals as directed. Prepares formal reports for the Director.
- Updates social media and the website to promote park events and services.
- Coordinates basic marketing efforts with the Communications Department to ensure consistency in messaging and outreach.
- Plans, evaluates, and implements large park special events often on weekends, evenings, and holidays as assigned; provides input and makes proposals regarding special events and community involvement of the Parks Department.
- Coordinates parks citizen advisory board and is the liaison to the Office of the Clerk to Board; including, but not limited to, associated agendas, meeting minutes, communications to board, and ensuring open meeting laws are met.
- Oversee the scheduling and coordination of part-time event staff, interns and volunteers.
- Functions in a lead capacity on a regular basis but is not a direct supervisor. May assign, schedule, and monitor the work of staff and seasonal workers, interns, and/or volunteers.
- Provides administrative support for purchasing and contractual transactions, ensuring compliance with county policies.
- Prepare reports on park operations, event effectiveness, and financial tracking to assist in strategic planning.
- Conducts surveys and analyzes data to evaluate program effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
- Tracks financial transactions related to event expenditures, sponsorships, and facility rentals; collaborates with Finance for reconciliation.
- Ability to show, book, and schedule facilities as needed for special events.
- Manage sponsorships for Guilford County Parks.
- Provide customer service to all patrons in the park. Help customers with reservations and general information.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Public meetings, records, and privacy law as it pertains to the Parks Citizen Advisory Board.
- Knowledge of pertinent park programs and applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations and codes including the Guilford County Code of Ordinances pertaining to Parks and Recreation.
- Knowledge of computer programs such as Word, Outlook, Publisher, Excel, Social Media, RecTrac, Mail Chimp, Survey Monkey, and Adobe Design Suite.
- Knowledge of event planning and data analysis methodologies.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate and maintain relationships with media professionals, staff, Clerk to the Board, and Advisory Board members, members of the public and business community.
- Knowledge of Guilford County Parks facilities, programs, and projects as to keep the public informed about available parks resources, opportunities, and operational changes.
- Knowledge of appropriate program and events eligible for sponsorship.
- Knowledge of publicity layouts, and the proper techniques used to address multi-use venues and mass public events.
- Best practices in evaluation development, data collection and analysis, and research methods as to measure customer satisfaction and engagement outcomes.
