POSITION DESCRIPTION
FUNCTION: The primary objective of the Business Analyst I role is to assist the business in implementing non-technological and technological solutions in a cost-effective and efficient manner by determining the requirements of a project or program, and communicating them clearly to senior leaders, stakeholders, facilitators and partners. Utilizing various techniques and practices and following a natural progression from the general to the specific they take high level business problems and objectives and decompose them into requirements that represent functions and attributes of a system or solution. In addition, the Business Analyst I is responsible for the progression of rolling up symptoms and side effects of business problems into higher-level root causes and problem statements while managing the resolution/project from inception to closure.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
- Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis.
- Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into detail, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
- Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver the following artifacts as needed: (Functional requirements, Business Requirements Documents, Testing Scenarios and Test Plan creation, Business flows and Use Cases).
- Collaborates with business lines to identify, define, and measure key performance indicators (KPIs) that align with strategic objectives and drive continuous improvement.
- Assists in vendor management by supporting score carding, monitoring performance, and holding vendors accountable to meet contractual obligations and organizational standards.

- Drive and challenge business units on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans.
- Strong analytical and product skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translating them into system and operational requirements.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
- Serves as the liaison between the customer community (internal and external customers), Operations, technology teams and support teams through which requirements flow.
- Develop requirements specifications according to standard templates, using natural language.
- Collaborate with technical resources and subject matter experts to establish the technical/operational vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.
- Assist in the role of the Project Manager for Bank initiated performing functions to include:
- Successfully delivering the objectives and benefits the Project sponsor expects of the project.
- Progress – deliverables are being completed within the baselined time scales.
- Quality – deliverables are being completed to defined expectations.
- Performance – the team is performing and meeting all tasks assigned. Positive team management.
- Regulatory – all required statutory and regulatory conditions are being met.
- Risk – proactively manage foreseen project risk, mitigating as necessary.
- Change – managing changes to the project without unduly affecting the stated objectives and benefits.
- Additional duties include: Collaborate weekly with the Project Manager on a progress report, reviewing any and all risks for the project. Facilitate communication meetings with the project team, maintain issues lists and project plan updates, etc.
- Maintains a sound understanding of the Bank’s internal policies and banking regulations. Follows all internal and external policies, procedures, regulations and service level agreements.
- Provides backup to Core and additional Bank wide Systems.

- Analyze and optimize workflows to ensure efficient use of Abrigo software
- Conduct periodic reviews of system features and provide recommendations for improvements
- Monitor system updates and communicate changes to affected business units
- Provide user support to ensure accurate and effective system usage
CRA & Fair Lending Wiz
- Configure and maintain system settings to align with regulatory requirements and organizational goals.
- Generate reports and dashboards to provide insights into performance and compliance metrics.

- Serve as a liaison between residential lending to streamline loan origination workflows.
- Document and analyze user requirements for system enhancements or process improvements.
- Test and validate new configurations, integrations, and updates to ensure accuracy and functionality.
- Provide end-user training and resolve technical or process-related issues.

- Collaborate with business units to collect and document requirements for system and process changes.

EDUCATION REQUIRED: A college degree (BS or BA in a relevant field).
MANAGERIAL RESPONSIBILITY: Has no supervisory/managerial responsibilities.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Three to five years of relevant experience, Knowledge of lending process or regulations, such as CRA, HMDA, Flood Insurance, is beneficial.
Strong analytical and product/project management skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs, translating them into system and operational requirements.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers and subject matter experts. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Must demonstrate a willingness to learn in an evolving department.
