The Director of Adult Education in collaboration with the Dean of Adult Education provides the vision and leadership required to realize the mission of all Adult Education programs to include Adult Basic Education (ABE), Adult Secondary Education (ASE), and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). Primary administrative responsibilities include recruiting, hiring and supervising part time faculty; recruiting, retaining, supervising and supporting ABE/ASE and/or ESOL students; creating course schedules; and creating and amending instructor contracts. Instructional responsibilities include teaching students effectively and evaluating and mentoring instructors to ensure quality instruction. The Director of Adult Education is expected to teach at least one class per semester and facilitate new student orientation.
Min Salary $62,031.04 Mid Salary $69,784.93 - We offer a competitive salary package that will be determined based on the candidate's experience level and qualifications related to the job. - Bachelor’s degree in Adult Education or related field from a regionally accredited post-secondary institution.
- TESOL, K-12, Special Education certification or certification from the NCCCS (i.e. Core, ASE Reading, ASE Math, etc.)
- Three years teaching experience in Adult Education, or ESOL, or K-12 English, Reading, or Mathematics.
- Minimum three years of supervisory experience.
- Experience with Distance Learning.
- Experience teaching/working with adult students who have intellectual disabilities.

- Knowledge of and experience in implementing WIOA and NRS requirements for Title II Adult Education including, but not limited to, best practices in instruction and performance requirements.
- Ability to implement supervision of effective instruction in a multi-campus adult education program.
