Position Description
The Vendor Inspection Coordinator oversees surveillance of Engineering and Procurement activities as applicable to procured items and associated activities.
Essential Functions
- Oversees surveillance of Engineering and Procurement activities as applicable to procured items and associated activities.
- Works closely with the requisitioning Engineer, Buyers, PM, Client, and Vendors.
- Provide, when requested, support to the concerned (COMPANY and CONTRACTOR side) within their area of responsibility and knowledge.
- The VIC monitors and supervises the CONTRACTOR and its supply chain management to ensure that QA / QC contractual and technical requirements are duly applied within the Engineering, Procurement & Supply activities.
- The VIC ensures that the CONTRACTOR duly and satisfactorily considers surveillance requirements (by criticality rating outputs and contract). The VIC also ensures the correct implementation of the Vendor's Inspection, test, and Surveillance plans (ITPs), identifying the need for COMPANY involvement in the surveillance activities and coordinating the requested inspections with the Project Quality Manager and other Project / Package leaders.
- VIC is responsible for coordinating the relevant and necessary Surveillance activities performed on behalf of the Package.
- VIC is responsible for coordinating inspection kick-off meetings with the selected VENDOR
- VIC is responsible for preparing the documentation needed for inspection and ensuring that Inspections are well-planned, budgeted and organized with the appropriate and approved documentation.
- The job holder assists when requested at Engineering and Procurement meetings with the SUBCONTRACTOR / VENDOR and reports adequately (areas of concerns, problems encountered in the implementation of the Surveillance and Inspection Plan by the CONTRACTOR, and the like) to the Package Managers / Leaders and discipline specialists.
- As a general manner, the job holder ensures that the CONTRACTOR is enforcing his contractual commitments, is implementing his overall Quality responsibilities and objectives properly, and is safely, properly, and timely performing his activities as per Contract specifications, design, and codes; and the job holder aids and support to the Package for all Quality related matters.
- Help develop and implement the Procurement Plan or similar based on corporate processes and work instructions, as well as client specific requirements.
- Tracks, measures, and reports progress on procured items using standard, established Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
- Assist supervisor with any other requested tasks that are not noted above
