GENERAL PURPOSE
Gulbrandsen Chemicals is a manufacturer of chemical intermediates, fine chemicals, and catalysts for process industry requirements has a full time opening for a Chemical Production Operator.
PRINCIPAL PURPOSE OF JOB: Responsible for performing the activities related to daily operations of the Production facility. Will be required to gain understanding of the chemical and material handling system. Responsible for ensuring safety, quality and for meeting customer demands as required. Will work overtime as needed.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Assist Lead Operator with daily production processes and plant operations.
- Serve as backup to Lead Operator during emergencies.
- Load chemical reactors with raw materials safely and accurately.
- Handle finished products, including packaging, shipping, and loading for transport.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the production facility.
- Operate forklifts to move materials, finished products, and equipment as needed.
- Transfer materials to and from storage tanks and process areas.
- Follow and enforce all safety procedures and standards.
- Support departmental and team projects as assigned.
- Perform other duties to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
QUALIFICATIONS
Technical
- Prior chemical plant experience preferred
- Must have or acquire a working knowledge of facility operations.
- Must have a thorough knowledge of work hazards, safety procedures, and plant safety matters.
- Must be able to work as part of a self focused team.
Physical Capabilities
- Ability to perform moderate to physically active tasks over extended periods.
- Comfortable working in varying weather conditions (hot, cold, wind, and rain).
- Capable of standing, walking, and working on different surfaces (e.g., concrete, tile, grating) for long durations.
- Ability to reach, bend, kneel, or crouch as needed.
- Comfortably climb stairs and ladders as part of daily activities.
- Ability to handle moderate lifting, carrying, or moving objects (up to 50 pounds).
- Work safely on uneven surfaces or in noisy environments.
- Ability to use hand/eye coordination for detailed tasks.
- Safe operation of equipment, such as forklifts.
- Ability to wear a respirator when necessary.

Pay Rate
$17.00 per hour start rate. Performance review with pay increase after 90 days.
