Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Business Development Executive β Commercial Flooring Sales to drive sales growth and secure commercial flooring contracts within the Education - K-12 sector. This position is responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities, cultivating relationships with key decision-makers, and successfully bidding and closing contracts. The ideal candidate has a strong background in commercial flooring sales, a deep understanding of education contracting, and a proven track record of exceeding sales targets.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the education / K-12 sector.
Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets.
Build and maintain strong relationships with school districts, architects, general contractors, and procurement officials.
Lead the bidding and proposal process, including estimating, contract negotiation, and pricing strategies.
Navigate government / education contracting systems such as BuyBoard, TASB, and JOC to secure contracts.
Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to generate leads and strengthen market presence.
Client & Relationship Management
Conduct client meetings, presentations, and site visits to understand project requirements.
Provide expert consultation on flooring solutions, product selection, and installation methods.
Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by delivering top-tier service and support throughout the sales cycle.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
Ensure all sales and project activities comply with contract requirements and government regulations.
Stay updated on industry trends, compliance standards, and competitive market analysis.
Experience & Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial flooring sales, business development, or a related field.
Strong understanding of education contracting and procurement processes.
Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets in commercial flooring or construction.
Skills & Competencies
Exceptional sales, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
Proficiency in project estimation software (e.g., PlanSwift, BlueBeam, MeasureSquare).
Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
OSHA certification and other safety-related credentials are a plus.
