Phone Operator/Customer Service

Job Description:
Gulf Coast Medical Center is seeking a Professional Telephone Operator to serve as the first point of contact for our patients and staff. This role requires exceptional communication skills, a calm and professional demeanor, and the ability to manage multiple incoming calls efficiently. The ideal candidate will have experience handling high call volumes while delivering outstanding customer service.

Responsibilities:

• Answer and direct incoming calls promptly and professionally.
• Provide accurate information and assistance to patients, providers, and staff.
• Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments as needed.
• Transfer calls to appropriate departments or personnel.
• Handle basic inquiries regarding office hours, services, and patient instructions.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
• Assist with administrative tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a telephone operator, receptionist, or customer service representative in a medical setting preferred.
• Strong verbal communication and listening skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with phone systems and scheduling software.
• High level of professionalism and attention to detail.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $16.87 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
