What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth Mentor position at Gulf Coast Social Services?
The Alexandria regional office is seeking Youth Respite Staff in the Deville area, to provide brief respite for youth with emotional or behavioral disorders in the community (parks, libraries, recreational outings) or in the youth’s home. The Short Term Respite program is designed to give the primary caregivers of youth with emotional, mental or behavioral disorders brief periods of respite (3 – 4 hours) in order for the caregiver to relax, rejuvenate, or attend to personal needs. Services are usually delivered after school hours and weekends.
- All Youth Respite Staff receive paid training, including CPR/First Aid.
- Must have a valid driver’s license consistent with Louisiana law, proof of car insurance and dependable transportation required.
- Must successfully pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
